English Bulldogs Rescues Pictures - General Description

All English Bulldogs have short and distinctively wrinkly muzzles. Sometimes they spread saliva, which many people find offensive. Ears are small, thin and folded backwards. Eyes of an English Bulldog are big and round, and they are set wide apart. Muzzle frequently evokes the image of a 'pug-nosed' creature. Coat is short, straight and glossy. Skin is soft and loose, wrinkly on the muzzle, throat and upper chest.

Bulldogs may be physically reluctant. They can be active for short time periods. Owners need to remember that they do not tolerate temperature drops and are not accustomed to outdoor life. Therefore, they are best suited for regions with temperate climatic conditions.

Despite their somewhat threatening look, English Bulldogs are reliable and amiable. They are good with children and docile in character. However, some are aggressive, and that may be lingering from their bellicose past. Generally, Bulldogs are good house companions. They are protective, faithful and highly boisterous when young. As they age, they become calmer and less active.

What they need most of all is proper care and attention of their owners. If they do not receive enough consideration, they may turn to mischief and become naughty. It is vital to moderately but firmly show your dog, who the master is, because English Bulldogs often challenge for leadership. Once English Bulldogs begin to believe that they are leaders, you are going to have to put up with the role of a follower in your own home.
